Analysis

NCRS Eastern Office’s analysis team extracts, analyses and interprets regional cancer statistics. Requests for data come from health professionals, researchers, national and regional organisations and the general public. Enquiries vary in their complexity from queries that require a simple extraction from the database to more complicated analyses, which may take several days.

National Cancer Information Service (CIS)

As part of the NHS Cancer Plan, cancer registries were funded to develop a web-based product, the United Kingdom Cancer Information Service (UKCIS). This will increase access through NHSnet to data on cancer incidence, mortality and survival. The data are prepared according to strict criteria to provide comparable data for NHS organisations and geographies across changing health and administrative boundaries. Rollout of UKCIS began in early Summer 2004 and training in the use of the system will be provided. This will complement the tailored analyses undertaken on request by the registries.

You may use UKCIS if you have applied for and received a user name and password (you need to be using a NHSnet computer for this link to work).

Please fill in this request form (Microsoft Word) if you would like to use UKCIS (NHS users only) or there is something you need to know that is not covered here.
